Biography

I have a Masters in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Maryland. I have also received clinical training in addictions from the Addiction Research Center and the Veterans Administration Hospital, both in Philadelphia. My postgraduate training was completed at the Miami Children’s Hospital, where I helped to initiate ER protocol for abused and neglected children and develop assessment protocol for first-year medical school residents.

I have been in private practice for 18 years. As part of my practice, I have been actively engaged in crisis intervention and individual and family therapy. I provide court assessment for the juvenile and adult judicial system and testify as an expert witness. I offer consultative services to community school systems, meeting with teachers and students about drug and alcohol addiction. I also consult with parents to help find appropriate classroom and therapeutic placements throughout the country.

"We had been to a number of therapists in the area before we found Dave. He was the first therapist who knew how to talk to our son so our son would listen. He cut through our son’s anger. Dave’s work changed our son’s life and changed our family’s entire dynamic."
