Alyssa Carrier has over 12 year’s experience in Emergency Management including Disaster Response and Recovery, Hazard Mitigation Assistance, Long-term Recovery planning, floodplain and Grant management. She has responded to the United State’s largest disasters including Hurricane’s Katrina, Rita, Gustov, Ike, Hurricane Sandy and most recently Hurricane Matthew and Hermine. Ms. Carrier has proven her ability to develop and maintain key relationships while managing complex and at times contentious projects to successful completion. Her direct experience includes program management, project management, and public outreach for Federal, State and local governments as well as nonprofits. Her career includes roles as Emergency Management Specialist for the Federal Emergency Management Agency, (Regions VI and VIII), policy advisor to numerous U.S. Senator and Mayor’s, Hazard Mitigation Planner and Grant Manager, Project Manager for over 600 employees for a $80 million dollar disaster debris recovery program, and currently serves as a consultant for numerous Federal, State and local agencies. She also volunteers for Behind the Red, a young professional branch of the American Red Cross.
Ms. Carrier’s experience is complimented by her Bachelors of Science degree in Emergency Administration and Planning from the University of North Texas. She is also a Certified Federal Grants Manager and Certified Floodplain Manager.
